Third Legacy Committee Meeting

Meets the 1st Monday of the month at Dry Dock at 6:30pm

The Third Legacy of Alcoholics Anonymous is Service. The A.A. Preamble states “Our primary purpose is to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers.” (reprinted with permission from A.A. World Services)

Service is the mechanical structure and processes that make carrying the A.A. message possible.

Traditionally, A.A. groups are autonomous and conduct their own affairs, but sometimes they draw on outside experience. The District 11 Third Legacy Committee is a resource for local A.A. groups and committees on service matters, if needed. Topics and tasks range from facilitating an inventory, helping organize a service workshop, connecting A.A. members with service sponsors, a sounding board for writing a motion, and many others related to supporting A.A. groups as they carry the message of A.A. to the still-suffering alcoholic.

Local A.A. groups may opt to send a representative to the monthly committee meeting.
